Do I need to be present at the time of inspection:
We strongly encourage the person(s) ordering the
inspection be present at the inspection. At Keystone, we
recognize the time constraints that many of our clients are
under and we make every effort to schedule your inspection
at a time that is convenient for you.
How long does the inspection last?
It normally takes 2 1/2 to 3 hours for a complete, thorough
inspection. Once we inspect an area, we strive to review
our findings with our clients and answer any questions you
may have.
What does the inspection cover?
Our inspection will examine all areas of your home,
including, but not limited to the following: Foundation, Roof,
Heating System, Air Conditioning Unit, Electrical System,
Plumbing, Grounds, preventative maintenance tips and
much more. In addition to receiving a report that you will
reference today and in the future, you will gain expert
knowledge about the various systems of your home.
Are you licensed?
Our inspectors meet the Pennsylvania standards as qualified
Inspectors under the Home Inspection Law. In addition, to
insure that every inspection meets high standards, our
inspectors are required to complete training at Inspectors
Training Institute. They are members of the American
Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI). Our reports meet or
exceed the standards set by ASHI.
What if you miss something?
There are thousands of items that make up a building. A
home inspection is a visual inspection as of a specific date.
We make every effort to find all major defects in the home
at the time of the inspection. The inspection and report are
not intended to be technically exhaustive, or to imply that
every component was inspected, or that every possible
defect was discovered. Our reports are designed to help our
clients make an educated evaluation of the overall condition
of the home. We do not state the "market value" of the
property nor do we make any representation as to the
advisability of purchase. We stress that the client should be
present during the inspection so that he or she benefits
from talking with the inspector at the inspection, asking
questions so there is full understanding of the various
systems that make up your home and to point out to the
inspector areas of concern.
What happens if you miss a major problem with the
home?
We are fully insured by a reputable insurance carrier. We
will work with you and all other parties concerned to
remedy any situation in a satisfactory manner.
